Why You'll Love This Safari
Your Safari, Your Way

There is no fixed safari destination attached to Safari to the Sea. Choose from anywhere in our African portfolio and we will build the safari around the wildlife, landscape and experience you want, before continuing to Cape Town.
From Bush to Coast

The contrast is part of the journey. After days following wildlife through the bush, Cape Town brings a completely different rhythm, with the Atlantic Ocean, mountains, beaches and city life replacing the sounds and stillness of the wilderness.
Cape Town Beyond the City

Cape Town is a destination of landscapes as much as city life. Explore the Cape Peninsula, walk beneath Table Mountain, spend time on its beaches, discover its restaurants and neighbourhoods or head out along the coast in search of marine life.
Wildlife on the Cape

The safari does not have to be where your final wildlife encounters happen. African penguins gather at Boulders Beach, Cape fur seals inhabit the surrounding waters, whales pass through seasonally and the Cape Peninsula supports a surprising range of terrestrial wildlife.
Two Very Different Landscapes

A safari and Cape Town work so naturally together because the experiences are so different. One is shaped by wildlife and the rhythms of the natural world; the other by ocean, mountains, beaches, food, culture and city life.
A Journey Built Around You

We choose the safari destination first, then shape the Cape Town portion around the way you want to travel. Whether this is your first safari, a honeymoon, a family journey or simply a chance to experience more of Africa in one trip, every part can be tailored to you.
Lodges In Our Portfolio
Safari to the Sea is built around any safari destination in our portfolio anywhere across Africa. The accommodations below are our Cape Town portfolio only. Once your safari has been chosen, we select your Cape Town accommodation, matching the property to how you want to experience the city, coast and surrounding Cape Peninsula.

The All Out Safaris Perspective
Safari to the Sea is about contrast. You start somewhere in Africa where the days are shaped by wildlife, wilderness and the rhythm of the bush, then finish with the ocean, mountains and energy of Cape Town.
For us, the important part is choosing the right safari first. There is no single destination that belongs to this journey, the safari should be the one that fits you and Cape Town becomes the other side of the story.
Then we shape Cape Town around the way you travel. A few quiet days beside the Atlantic, time exploring the Peninsula, mornings in the mountains or simply taking in the city. The journey should feel like one experience, not two holidays joined together.
Questions about this safari
Can I choose any safari destination?
Yes. Safari to the Sea can be built around any safari destination in our portfolio across Africa. We will recommend the destination and lodge based on the wildlife, landscape, season and type of safari you want.
Which safari lodge will I stay at?
Your safari lodge will depend entirely on the destination you choose. We will select from our relevant lodge portfolio for that destination rather than limiting you to a fixed property.
Which Cape Town accommodation should I choose?
That depends on how you want your Cape Town stay to feel. Tintswalo Atlantic is the most secluded and romantic, while Tintswalo Boulders is particularly suited to exploring the Cape Peninsula and Boulders Beach (for the penguins). POD Camps Bay and The Marly Hotel both place you in Camps Bay, with POD offering a smaller boutique atmosphere and The Marly bringing a more polished and lively hotel experience. The Cole Hotel is best suited to travellers who want a contemporary base in Sea Point with easy access to the Atlantic Seaboard, V&A Waterfront and the city.
What wildlife can I see in Cape Town?
Cape Town has surprisingly diverse wildlife. Around the Cape Peninsula you may encounter African penguins, Cape fur seals, chacma baboons, Cape mountain zebra, bontebok, eland and red hartebeest. The surrounding waters also support dolphins and several whale species, including southern right whales, humpback whales and Bryde’s whales. Southern right whales are most commonly seen between June and November.
Can I see African penguins?
Yes. Boulders Beach in Simon’s Town is home to a colony of African penguins and is one of the best-known wildlife experiences on the Cape Peninsula.
Can I see whales in Cape Town?
Whales can be seen in the waters around the Cape, with southern right whales being the most commonly encountered species during their seasonal visit from around June to November. Humpback and Bryde’s whales may also be seen, depending on the season and conditions.
Is Safari to the Sea suitable for families?
Yes. We can choose a safari destination and lodge that works for your family, then select Cape Town accommodation and experiences around the ages of your children and the way your family likes to travel.
Can I combine more than one safari destination with Cape Town?
Yes. For longer journeys, we can combine two or more safari destinations before continuing to Cape Town. The combination will depend on how much time you have and the experiences you want to include.
