The All Out Safaris Perspective

From Wild to Wine is about contrast. You begin somewhere in Africa where the days are shaped by wildlife, wilderness and the rhythm of the bush, then continue to the vineyards, mountains and food culture of the Cape Winelands.

For us, the important part is choosing the right safari first. There is no single destination that belongs to this journey. Your safari should be the one that fits you, and the Winelands become a different side of the experience.

Then we shape the second half around the way you travel. Perhaps that means a historic wine estate, a contemporary countryside retreat, memorable meals or simply a few quiet days among the vines. The journey should feel like one experience, with each destination offering something different.

Questions about this safari

Can I choose any safari destination?

Yes. From Wild to Wine can be built around any safari destination in our portfolio across Africa. We will recommend the destination and lodge based on the wildlife, landscape, season and type of safari you want.

Your safari lodge will depend entirely on the destination you choose. We will select from our relevant lodge portfolio for that destination rather than limiting you to a fixed property.

That depends on how you want your stay to feel. Babylonstoren is ideal for gardens, farm experiences and seasonal food; Grande Provence offers historic estate character and an intimate Franschhoek setting; Lanzerac combines heritage with a full-service luxury hotel experience; Leeu Estates offers refined luxury and exceptional dining; and Webersburg is suited to travellers who prefer a historic, intimate country estate.

Enjoy wine tastings, explore historic wine estates, discover Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, savour local cuisine or simply relax amid the vineyards and mountains. Experiences can be tailored to your interests, whether you prefer a full itinerary or a slower stay.

March to April is particularly rewarding for wine enthusiasts, with grape harvesting, autumn colours and milder weather. September to November brings spring flowers and fresh green vineyards, while December to February offers warm, sunny days. June to August is quieter, with cooler weather and cosy fireside dining. As the best time also depends on your chosen safari destination, we’ll help you find the ideal dates to experience both destinations at their best.

Yes. We can choose a safari destination and lodge that works for your family, then select Winelands accommodation and experiences around the ages of your children and the way your family likes to travel.

Yes. For longer journeys, we can combine two or more safari destinations before continuing to the Winelands. The combination will depend on how much time you have and the experiences you want to include.
