Why You'll Love This Safari
A Safari Shaped by Water

The Okavango is unlike almost anywhere else in Africa. Water spreads across the landscape in a shifting network of channels, lagoons and floodplains, creating a safari environment where the presence of water shapes everything around it.
Wildlife in an Untouched Wilderness

The Okavango Delta offers an extraordinary sense of space and remoteness. Elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, wild dog and a remarkable variety of antelope move through a landscape that feels vast, open and largely untouched.
More Than a Game Drive

The Delta allows you to experience the wilderness in different ways. Depending on where you stay, you may explore by traditional mokoro (a traditional flat-bottomed dugout canoe) safari, boat safari and game drive, moving through the landscape at different speeds and seeing wildlife from entirely different perspectives.
A Landscape That Moves With the Seasons

The Okavango is constantly changing. The annual flood transforms dry plains into waterways and islands, while the changing seasons alter where wildlife gathers and how you experience the Delta.
Exceptional Wildlife Diversity

From red lechwe antelope moving through shallow water to elephants crossing channels and predators hunting across the floodplains, the Delta offers remarkable variety. It is also one of Africa's great birding destinations, with hundreds of species making the waterways and surrounding wilderness their home.
A Deeper Sense of Wilderness

There is something wonderfully unhurried about a safari in the Delta. Days are shaped by water, wildlife and light rather than a fixed itinerary, giving you time to simply be present in one of Africa's most extraordinary wildernesses.

The All Out Safaris Perspective
The Okavango is a place where water changes everything.
It changes where the animals move, how you explore and even the way the landscape feels around you. One moment you're watching an elephant emerge from a channel; the next you're moving quietly through papyrus in a mokoro with nothing but birdsong around you.
What we love most about the Delta is that it never feels like you're simply arriving somewhere to see wildlife. The landscape itself becomes part of the experience. You slow down, look closer and let the wilderness reveal itself at its own pace.
Questions about this safari
Is this safari suitable for first-time visitors to Botswana?
Yes. The Okavango Delta is one of Botswana's defining safari destinations and offers an extraordinary introduction to the country's landscapes, wildlife and waterways. We simply recommend choosing the right area and lodge for your style of travel.
Which Okavango Delta lodge should I choose?
That depends on your travel style, budget and priorities. &Beyond Sandibe is an excellent all-round choice, particularly for couples and families wanting polished lodge comfort. &Beyond Sandibe Under Canvas is more intimate and immersive, making it especially suited to couples and adventurous travellers. Singita Elela and Dulini Daunara are particularly appealing for privacy, romance and special occasions. If you're unsure which is right for you, we'll recommend the option that best matches your travel style and preferences.
When is the best time to visit the Okavango?
June to October is generally considered the prime period, when the Delta is transformed by the annual flood and wildlife viewing is excellent. The greener months offer lush scenery, migratory birds and a quieter feel.
Can I do a mokoro safari in the Okavango?
Often, yes, but it depends on the lodge, location and water levels. A mokoro (a traditional flat-bottomed dugout canoe) is one of the most peaceful ways to experience the Okavango Delta, moving quietly through the channels at water level and giving you a completely different perspective of the landscape and wildlife.
What wildlife can I expect to see?
The Delta is home to elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, wild dog, cheetah, hippo, hyena and numerous antelope species, alongside exceptional birdlife. The exact wildlife experience varies between areas and seasons.
